BuyBook has created a new option for dealers, one that creates a new value we call Wholetail™. As the name implies, Wholetail™ values are a hybrid of wholesale and retail. Here’s how it works:
A dealer has a vehicle to sell. It could be one he traded for, or it might be one that has reached its turn time limit, after the dealer has invested significant money to recondition and market it.
The dealer logs on to a BuyBook partner’s site, and accesses a database of consumers who are in the market to purchase a used vehicle. Each consumer has provided us detailed information about what he’s looking to buy, how much he’s willing to pay, his credit score, and his contact information.
The dealer finds a consumer who’s looking for the vehicle he needs to sell. He offers it to the consumer at a price that’s above wholesale but below retail. The consumer accepts the offer.
The dealer and the consumer are both delighted to have gotten a great deal.
